Hellebore Blooming
For shade, late winter and early spring blooms of the Hellebore are a good perennial choice.

imageEven with the very dry winter we've had, our Hellebore paid no attention. This one pictured was planted last year in full shade. Frost and freeze-resistant, this beautiful plant did not die back, nor did its exposed, leathery leaves suffer from cold or lack of water. The blooms began about a month ago and are continuing.

Flowers come in many colors and shapes, including green, deep purple, white, pink, lavender and multicolored. Some flowers resemble wild roses. The flower's sepals stay intact, holding the flower's shape for long periods, sometimes for months on end. Plants with cup-like flowers often hold water; wild song birds can often be seen taking a sip just after rain or watering.

Re: Hellebore Blooming
i have recently started growing hot chilli peppers, i only have Serreno and halipino ( may not be right spelling) i have noticed that the leaves are looking very old and wilted, i have tried a few different organic pesticdes to get rid of this with no luck. can someone tell me what maybe causing this? the amount of peppers on it has been great still going off. also i have a chilli type of Capsicum it is like a banana capsicum and is long and a yellow green colour. one plant has given me over a dozen chillies, the other only 2. again the plant looks dry and wilted all the time. please let me know what to do. also i am in Brisbane Australia, it is our spring/summer season now. very high humidity and mid 30s temperatures, watering mornings and afternoons, morning and afternoon shade. the plants are not in pots, they are in the ground? very interested in the types of chilli plants you offer, how would i go arranging for some seeds? as my local nurseries have minimal options.
